Entry #1- on the ups and downs, depression, and sleep

I’m amazed at my ability to be completely on top of the world one day and literally want to throw in the towel, start over and re-build everything the next!  I know that some of this is my personality but I’ve also noticed that some of this may be sleep related.  My entire outlook on life seems to shift based on how much sleep I have gotten. The difference in my perspective on life at 5-7 hours of sleep at night is radically different than when I get 7-9 hours!  I realize more and more how important it is for me to recognize when I am in a sleep deficit and to not take my thoughts and outlooks too seriously.

ENTRY #2- ON HEARING HIS VOICE AND JOURNALING

We tend to always want to start a new conversation with God.  But I have found that He often doesn’t want to start a new conversation.  Many times He wants to finish speaking with me about what we were last talking about.  He wants to pick up our last conversation where it left off.  He wasn’t finished working on our heart in that area.   I have found this to be one of the benefits of journaling… I’m often able to go back and see where our last conversation left off and pick up from there.  Its allowed me to to enter into His presence and hear His voice much more quickly in my time with Him.  As I write this I find myself wondering if our entire relationship with Him is supposed to be one long on-going conversation…. that naturally flows from one topic to the next….just a thought!

PLEASE NOTEJournal Entries are my way of being able to put out more of what is going on in my head and heart at a faster pace. Longer blog posts take time for me to to develop and articulate my thoughts, have someone proofread, get a photo done for them, etc…Therefore you may find grammatical/punctuation errors, and these posts won’t look as “pretty” as some of the others.  Many of these thoughts are “undeveloped”.  These are simply some of the things I am reflecting and thinking about during my time with God that I believe others could possibly benefit from.  I don’t post every entry.  Obviously some remain private to me.  Hope you enjoy!
